Telstra Business Technology Centre (TBTC) Melbourne South and TBTC Victoria East have welcomed new owners in 2022, following the retirement of previous owners Gary Kyriacou and Tony Burke. Gareth Wyatt, Varun Kumar, Ryan Kovacs, and Paril Hargovan have taken up the mantle, and while they are new owners, they certainly aren’t new to the business. Each has been working in TBTCs for over a decade, and together they have more than 65 years of business technology industry experience.
The new owner team has been with the business through a lot of big changes, including the switch from TBC to TBTC in 2019. They were also there on the front lines through COVID, facilitating the rapid implementation of new technology to help navigate a new working landscape.
Gareth, Varun, Ryan and Paril jointly own both TBTCs, and there has been a seamless transition as they continue to uphold the amazing service provided by the previous owners.
Gareth’s story with TBTC
With 11 years at the company, Gareth was the General Manager of TBC Frankston before it merged with TBC Dandenong to become TBTC Melbourne South. He has 20 years of industry experience, and has been a longstanding shareholder of both TBTCs prior to becoming Director of Operations at TBTC Melbourne South and Victoria East. Gareth handles day-to day operations, including compliance, marketing, and training.
Varun’s story with TBTC
Varun has been with the organisation for 15 years, and was an existing shareholder prior to becoming a joint owner. He is currently the Director of Sales across both TBTCs, and General Manager of Sales at TBTC Melbourne South. In his role, he liaises with the business’ key technology partners, staying across the latest technology solutions for clients.
Ryan’s story with TBTC
Ryan is the Licensee and Director of TBTC Victoria East. Before his current positions, he had 15 years with the company and was also an existing shareholder. Today, Ryan handles the strategic direction of TBTC Victoria East, helping support local businesses to leverage technology to define their competitive edge.
Paril’s story with TBTC
Paril is now the Licensee and Strategic Director of TBTC Melbourne South, following more than 15 years with the TBTC. Before becoming a joint owner, Paril was an existing shareholder and Director on both TBTC’s Board of Directors. Paril handles the strategic direction of TBTC Melbourne South, helping the business deliver best-in-class technology solutions to local businesses.
